Whitchurch Classes
Classes are held every Monday and Wednesday at the Whitchurch Community Centre, Wells Road, Whitchurch, Bristol BS14 0PT GPS: 51°24'28N 2°33'27W (see below for map and directions).
Whitchurch is our longest running club - it started up in 1993, and we still have some of our original members training! the club benefits from many very experienced black belts who are very keen and highly skilled at passing on their considerable knowledge to the less experienced. The hall we train in is large with an airy feel and a good floor (important when you're in bare feet!). The Whitchurch club likes to train hard, but still has a very friendly and approachable atmosphere. The Wednesday adult training sessions are split into junior and senior grades, meaning that more individual attention and grade appropriate instruction can be given to both the junior and senior grades alike.
Children's Classes (ages 5 - 12)
Mondays: 5:00 - 6:00pm
Wednesdays: 5:30 - 6:30pm
Adults Classes (ages 13 - 73!)
Mondays: 6:10 - 7:25pm
Wednesdays: 6:40 - 7:45pm Junior Grades, white belt to blue belt
- 7:45 - 9:00pm Senior Grades, blue belt to black belt.
How to find the Whitchurch Community Centre
The Whitchurch Community Centre (NOT the sports centre!) is located just off the main A37 Wells Road in Whitchurch. Driving South out of Bristol along the A37 through Whitchurch, go past the Tesco Express/Esso service station on your left, with Gilda Parade shops on your right, go straight on at the traffic lights, over the elevated section of the A37, past Whitchurch Village Primary School on your left, the turning for the centre is just past the set of pedestrian traffic lights just after the school - you will see the turning for 'Maggs Lane' on your right - the turning is opposite that on your left, signposted 'Community Centre' (the map below is a little confusing - the school is first then the turning for the centre, not the other way around!).
Travelling North into Bristol on the A37 from the Pensford direction, come to the first set of traffic lights at the junction with Staunton Lane signposted right for Stockwood, keep straight on towards Bristol, approximately 100m come to a pedestrian traffic light, turn right into the community centre, immediately before the traffic light.
