Southern Championships – 6th October

This year’s TAGB Southern Championships will take place on Saturday 6th October at the Torbay Leisure Centre, Penwill Way, Paignton TQ4 5JR.

This competition is our local area tournament; it is very friendly with lots of faces that will be familiar to those of you who have been to any other local TAGB events (especially black belts who will have graded alongside others from the region, and trained with them at black belt training sessions). This is a great event to get to know other TaeKwon-Do students from around our area, and see some great martial art!

A few changes to the line up this time – you can now put together teams to enter the Team Pattern Event – three students perform a pattern in unison (pattern of the lowest grade student in the team). There are three divisions each for adults and juniors – yellow/green belt, blue/red belt and black belt. The teams can be mixed sexes. The other change, this time for black belts only, is that you can now enter for BOTH hand AND foot destruction – so you can be sore in four places, not just two – if you like!

To enter the tournament, you need to click this link to Download the Competition Entry Pack. The last page of this pack is the entry form – please print one form for each student wishing to enter. This form needs to be completed and handed to Mr Martin, along with the entry and any spectator ticket money, by Friday 21st September at the latest. Please note that the deadline listed on the pack is our instructor deadline – NOT THE STUDENT DEADLINE!

Payments for entries/spectator tickets can be made by cash, or cheque made payable to B.T.S. or via BACS transfer to our BTS account (this is NOT the same account used for student subscriptions). If you do not yet have our BACS account details please contact Mr Martin.

Any black belts wishing to officiate at this tournament, there is now a new online officials entry system. To apply to officiate Please Click on This Link and enter your details. Failure to pre-register will mean that you will be asked to pay an entry fee. If you are officiating you cannot compete. Officials must be at least part 2 Umpires qualified – for more details see the entry pack above.

We hope to see you there!
